Bruin Shelter will be open this Fall Quarter!
We apologize, but the application is currently closed, due to high demand. Please check back in January.
Staying at Bruin Shelter
If you are a UCLA or SMC student experiencing homelessness and are between the ages of 18-24, join us at Bruin Shelter. We're run entirely by UCLA students, who aim to provide a safe and supportive space for anyone in need starting Fall Quarter 2016.
Our place is open from 8pm until 7am each day of the week. Beds with individual storage lockers are available for each resident. Communal dinner is held at 8:30pm, and breakfast items can be grabbed to go. Flash Passes are available, and we're right on a Big Blue Bus line. UCLA med students are available to help with medical/dental/vision co-pays, along with a comprehensive network of on-campus resources.
Safety at Bruin Shelter
Safety is an important pillar of our values. We appreciate you working with us to establish a safe and supportive space, and that the following policies are adopted to maintain safety for everyone inside Bruin Shelter. We cannot accommodate guests under 18 years of age. Pets, weapons, drugs or alcohol are not allowed in the shelter. Everyone's belongings are subject to search upon entry. If you have any questions about the policies, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or talk to a shelter staff member.
